Writing T2

For the last couple of weeks we have been doing wrting about body parts me and my buddy chose the pancreas here is my report about the pancreas

The Pancreas is a long flattened gland located deep in our stomachs and it is six inches long. Because the Pancreas isn't seen in our everyday lives most people don't know much about this part of the body as say the heart or the brain, but the pancreas is a vital part of our digestive system and a critical controller of our blood sugar levels.

There are 4 parts of the Pancreas. The Head, Neck, Body and The Tail. The head of the pancreas is the largest part of the organ. The head is found on the right side of the abdomen nestled in the curve of the duodenum. The Neck is a small section of the organ between the head and the body. The Body is the middle part of the pancreas between the Tail and the neck. The Superior mesenteric artery and veins run behind this part of the pancreas. The thin tip at the end of the pancreas is called the tail the tail is placed next to the body as you can see in the diagram. The tail is in close proximity to the spleen.

The Pancreas regulates your body’s blood sugar levels. If your pancreas is faulty you could become diabetic. What is Diabetes? To answer that you need to understand the role of insulin in your body. When you eat, your body turns food into sugars and glucose. At that point your pancreas is supposed to release insulin. Insulin serves as a “key” to open your cells, allow glucose to enter and give you energy. But with diabetes this system does not work. There are two types of diabetes type ii and type i. Type one diabetes is the most severe. This type of diabetes is also called insulin-dependant diabetes. This type of diabetes doesn't open your cells to allow the glucose to enter this means the glucose builds up in the blood. If left untreated this can harm your eyes, kidneys, heart and could lead to a coma and death. This is why some people carry insulin pens. When needed those diabetic people use the pens to put insulin inside their body. This insulin opens the cells and puts the gathered up glucose in your body so you don't get harmed. Another one of the general jobs the pancreas does is putting different chemical messengers called hormones into your blood.

In conclusion the Pancreas is a very important organ in our body. It regulates our blood sugars to stop us from getting diabetes and produces enzymes to help us with our indigestion. It is an allround important part of our body and without it, we wouldn't be able to survive.

Weekly Reflectionnn

Hello humans
Image result for human

Today my teacher told me to do a reflection of this week so i guess i am going to arent i!

This Weeeeeek we have been focused on writing a great paragraph here is my writing:

H.T.B.A.S
(how to be a superhero)
Hi I’m MIND MAN and I going to teach you how to be a superhero!
As you know there are three main aspects of how to be a superhero, Your backstory, costume, and name.

A Backstory explains how you got your powers, what your powers are, and where you're from.
Did you see someone you loved brutally killed? or Did you grow up with the ability to fly on the planet Zanier? Whatever happened your backstory is one of your most important superhero traits.

I’m
MIND MAN
What planet are you from? There are approximately 3 bazillion life giving planets (1 with a trillion zeroes on the end) in the universe. Whatever one you come from is either the truth or lie. You obviously can't come from a star like X-32 (the sun) unless your a minizard (which surprisingly are not that “mini”) or a meteor which is pretty obvious or a Frozen wasteland because you’ll…..well….freeze.

What powers do you have? My Powers -as you know- are telekinesis (move stuff with my mind), teleportation, and the elements (fire, water, earth, air). you could have electricity, or super knitting, super strength (what my father had), super speed (what my mother had), dark magic (what THE LEADER had) and many more. You also might not have a physical power you could have a mental power like super brains, super memory, or invisibility which are also very cool, or not have any powers at all just be really really really good at fighting like a person you people call Batman? Or Ironman? Or Black WIdow? Or my good friend Captain America!

What was your role? My role on my planet was prince, but were you a, slave, child, terrorist trying to do some good. Or where you just a normal person until something supernatural made you WANT TO RIP OFF THE HEADS OF THE PEOPLE THAT KILLED YOUR FAMILY!!!1! *sobbing angrily* sorry for that spaz… let's move on.
Your costume explains what your powers are. If you were called THE BONE CRUSHER and where big and bulky and very very very VERY strong. You wouldn't go into battle wearing a bright, hot pink, tutu. Would you?

Your superhero costume has to have colours relating to your powers. For instance, if you where BUG MAN you would wear green and your hat would presumably have antennae and ..maybe… you’d have dragonfly wings. Or if you were called ELECTRONIC MAN, you would wear yellow or green or blue the stereotypical colours of things things. Or DARK MASTER you would wear BLACK and have a BLACK cape and have BLACK gloves and you would wear all BLACK. Or Toastman? Would wear light brown or black if he's burnt….or like pink for the jam or something like that.

Your Superhero name implies what your powers are and who you are. If you die in battle, would you like to be remembered as The Ugly Pig?

Your Superhero name, like your costume, implies what your powers are. It is going to be one of the most important tidbits about your persona. Imagine your name in lights. Does "Gregarious Greg" really have the ring to it you want (you can do better than that!)? Is "Looks Good in Yellow Girl" doing yourself justice? Or is The Ugly Pig really good for your popularity. Your name is what you’ll be remembered for so whatever you want to be known for is you choice

I hope this talk has been very informative about
HOW TO BE A SUPERHERO

This week for maths i have been focusing on eliminatijngkjbgkljbrvliuvgb;iuksv it is very good for your brain to work on everyday...for the rest if your ssad life

That is my reflection i hope you like it!!!!!!! #tootiredtowrite

MADE OF MORE

"Made Of More"

The cloud came from the sea
He was not like the rest
He liked to do other things than float
He was scared of modern things
But he was also curious
He was determined to find somewhere he belonged
You see he was an extraordinary cloud
He was a cloud "Made Of More"

An Icy Heart

The sudden change in the icy wind made me look around. He had suddenly appeared. The gloomy nights had seemed easier to handle now that he was gone . I couldn't go to his funeral because he lived away. He was gone and I had to live with that. Every night I come to the last spot I saw him. This place in this mysterious park. Where the bushes were big, the trees were tall, and the radiant lampposts are always on. I finally had to let go of this piece of my heart. I can't handle it anymore. I have to say goodbye. I had so many exciting things I wanted to tell him. Now my body it full of sadness, and loss. Nobody can take away my pain. Now is goodbye.
Goodbye Dad.

LETTER HOME

June 19 1918
My Dearest Mary
I will write to you as you wrote to me last night. How are the children doing at school? Has Elizabeth passed her Exams? Have you talked to David in the last couple of weeks? There was one thing that I was really surprised to hear in the last letter… that Steven had died of a Heart Attack. What I really wanted to hear was some happy news and I got it from a friend last week
(Not to say that hearing from you isn't happy because it is) Paul and Susan are getting married and some more good news is that Robert and Carol are having a baby and they’re naming it after you my darling… they're calling it Mary. Anyway I have to go they’re calling my name.

Marshmallow

Down by the lake on a cold autumn night I run around the woods to find the perfect piece of wood to shove my marshmallow on, then I hear screaming coming from the west of the woods. It was like something had attacked them and then I look around and find it. I grab it and run back to the flame. I feel like someones watching me and I plant my body on the log, I grab a marshmallow and put it on the stick. The crackling of the fire cooks the marshmallow. When I turn around I see two huge green eyes as green as the grass and a black body as black as the night sky. There was blood as red as a heart dripping from the creatures mouth. I turn and look at the fire, its getting bigger and brighter as I keep looking. I run into my tent and grab my blanket the monster rips my tent and I hide in my sleeping bag. I peek above the tip of it and then I see the monster, I quickly run and grab my blanket. I throw it over the creature and he gets tangled up in the violet and white striped blanket. Then he rips the blanket with his teeth, as sharp as knives. I then throw twigs and big sticks at the creature and it is still not hurt. I suddenly feel sorry for the creature, and I stop throwing sticks at it. I pick up the bag of marshmallows and I give it one. It nudges my hand and I get another one. I then put my hand out and pat it. The sun was rising and I brought the creature into the light and I see that it was a dragon. He shows a sign that he wants me to jump on his back he starts to flap his wings and I hold on tightly I now knew that we would be best friends forever.

2022 Commonwealth Games Triathlon

2022 Triathlon

WALT: Use spelling patterns to help me spell more difficult words
Walt: use paragraphs in my writing

I arrive in Edmonton,  in the South West of Canada. Where this years commonwealth games are being held. I Came to Edmonton on a Ploat, a plane crossed with a boat. We sailed from England to British Columbia and flew from British Columbia to Edmonton. I have to beat Last Commonwealth games winner, my nemesis. Josh Fentiman. I get a floating taxi to the hotel where I am going to sleep tonight. When I get out I find it weird that the taxi driver didn't charge me any money. I think he knew that I was an international triathlete. I get up to the top floor, where my hotel room was and it was 70 floors to the top. I cook some pasta because I was carbo loading for tomorrows race where I would beat, Josh Fentiman.

The next morning I wake up and realize That I am late for the triathlon. I jump out of bed,  put my gear on, grab a banana and run out to get a taxi. The first taxi I see pulls right over and picks me up. I tell him to drive to The Olympic sized swimming pool and step on it. He goes as fast as he can and we get their just before the triathlon starts. I run over to the diving block and look over and see him. Josh Fentiman. In a way I think that I will lose the triathlon but in another way I think I might win it. The nervousness starts and the adrenaline kicks in.

The beep goes and we dive into the pool. I look over and I Josh is way behind me. I think to myself “this is gonna be a breeze.” I jump out of the swimming pool and run over to the bike transition and I jump on my floating bike and start riding until I fall off my bike and loose loads of time. Josh overtakes me and I am very angry I jump back on my floating bike and sprint to get him. I get to the running transition and he is still in front of me I get my bouncy shoes on and jump faster than I have ever been before. I get to Josh and stick behind him until the last straight then jump over him and cross the finish line. I can’t believe I won the triathlon I am so happy I fall over. Josh comes over the finish line just before I do and when I fall over he helped me up because we were doing so well. The next people to come over the line where Cameroon and Namibia. Namibia was 1000s of a second in front of Cameroon and Namibia came 3rd.

The next part was the medal ceremony and I was in the middle of Josh and The Namibian person. When they called us out we walked to the podium and we stood behind them. The Guy said “And in 3rd place, Representing Namibia, Dirk Coetzee.” The the guy says again “And in 2nd place representing New Zealand, Josh Fentiman” then Josh looks at me, and I can read his face, he is saying, “I can’t believe I didn't win.” Then the guy then says again “And in 1st place, representing England, Finlay Brown” and everybody cheers for me and I feel so happy. That night I fall asleep and I say to myself and I am so glad I am in the commonwealth games, and I want to stay like this forever.
